Public Equity > Overview Quadrangle Equity Investors ("QEI"), the public equity business, invests primarily in media and communications companies by executing a research-intensive, equity long/short investment strategy leveraging its sector experience while maintaining vigilant risk management.

QEI uses a bottom-up fundamental research driven approach to identify the most attractive risk adjusted securities for purchase and the least attractive risk adjusted securities for short sales. Research efforts and investing are concentrated in media and communications companies, which include companies in the internet and leisure sectors, and in companies operating in adjacent sectors such as technology, consumer and electronics. Knowledge of such sectors derives from the team’s media and communications expertise.

The investment process places an emphasis on proprietary, independent research and benefits from industry expertise and an extensive network of relationships within the media and communications sectors. At the core of the investment process is idea sourcing, intensive due diligence, and security selection for both long and short investment opportunities. The team is led by Rob Donahue.
